“Sons of B—”: ESPN’s Pat McAfee Drops Profane Message to Knicks on TNT in Game 4

It wouldn’t be a playoff night in Indiana without some fireworks — and this time, they came from the broadcast booth. During Game 4 of the Knicks vs. Pacers series, ESPN’s Pat McAfee let it fly with a full-throated war cry that echoed through the TNT broadcast: “Let’s send these sons of b—— back to New York with their ears ringing! Let’s turn this s— around!” Unsurprisingly, McAfee’s colorful language has once again reignited the debate over his place on family-friendly television.

This wasn’t a one-off. McAfee’s reputation as a loose cannon with a mic is well-documented. From ESPN broadcasts to live appearances, he’s never been shy about sprinkling expletives into his commentary. Back in September 2023, an uncensored “We’re f—-d” during a segment about Aaron Rodgers’ injury made it to air — a first for his ESPN program despite the network’s broadcast delay system.

In October, he told Washington State fans to “F— off” live on College GameDay after defending fellow analysts. Just months later, in February, he doubled down on his anti-authority stance by blasting ESPN exec Norby Williamson with a sharp, “I don’t got a motherf—ing boss.”

But none of that stirred up as much backlash as his June 2024 comments on Caitlin Clark, where he used a derogatory term that drew widespread condemnation. McAfee issued a public apology, acknowledging that his attempt at a compliment was wildly misplaced.

(This is a building story…)
