Stephen Curry Compromised As Steve Kerr Refuses To Maintain Secrecy Over Locker Room Decision vs Rockets

Wednesday’s Warriors vs Rockets clash brought a major concern to light. During one of the plays, Dillon Brooks was caught seemingly targeting Stephen Curry’s injured thumb while contesting his shot. Even the on-air announcers called it out on Live TV. The accusation was confirmed when Brooks himself admitted to it, “I’m playing the game… If I had an injured ankle, I would attack that ankle every single time. So, whatever they’re saying on the broadcast, they can keep saying it.”

Well, as long as the Rockets are playing within the rules, they are unlikely to tone down their attack on Curry’s thumb. Sure enough, this strategy has somewhat compromised the Baby-Faced Assassin’s health. Veteran insider Shams Charania revealed Steph’s frustration of playing with the lingering injury, “What he deals with is irritation at times. And it’s really whenever that thumb gets hit.”

The irritation has also reflected in his recent performance. In the past two games, his scoring average has dropped to 15 points. And Curry played his worst game of this series on Wednesday, scoring just 13 points on 4 of 12 shooting. But this is no time to dwell on the past, as the Warriors have an opportunity to close out the series tonight. So, Steph is not letting his focus waiver because of the Rockets’ controversial strategy. Charania continued, “Now this is a contact sport, that’s a part of it. He knows that and I spoke to some Warriors sources today and they told me that Stephen Curry is fine. He’s fine enough to play. He’s not even on our injury report.”

Shams on Steph’s thumb:

The insider also revealed Curry’s message to the Warriors’ locker room ahead of Game 6, “I’m told Stephen Curry has told people around the Warriors and people around him even this week that ‘Yeah it hurts, but I’m not talking about this. I’m not here to discuss this. I’m here to just play. I’m just playing on this. I’m just playing through it.’ And that’s his mentality.” So, don’t expect Steph to slow down just because Dillon Brooks and Co. are trying to exploit his weakness. “He’s just gonna continue to play on. I do expect him to get that reexamined after the season, but right now Stephen Curry, he is not using that as an excuse. He doesn’t even wanna talk about it.” Shams added. Obviously, Steve Kerr also continues to have faith in his beloved superstar.
