Stephen Curry went off tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies to register yet another 50-point game. But something about him was different. He had a killer instinct tonight that we don’t often see from him. And his head coach, Steve Kerr, seems to know why. Even if Steph himself felt otherwise.
Kerr revealed that Steph must have remembered how he went 0-7 on his field goal attempts the last time the Warriors played the Grizzlies. “I think he the last time he was here, he didn’t make a field goal. I guarantee that was on his mind,” said Kerr while speaking to the media post-game.
But later, when it was Steph’s time to talk to the media, he immediately voided Steve Kerr’s words with a surprising revelation. He revealed, “I’ll be honest, I had actually forgot that fact. I was just kind of more focused on how big this game was for us…I think I thought about their style, they try to jump up the game on defense, top blocks, and trying to send me into the paint and traffic and all that.”
But it seems like there must have been at least a little something left behind from earlier. Because we were witnesses to one of those rare Steph Curry moments.

‘The Baby-Faced Assassin’ got into a row with the Grizzlies’ Desmond Bane. But that’s not all. He even mocked their interim head coach, Tuomas Iisalo. And all in all, just looked more fired up than ever during his performance tonight.
But now we know that this wasn’t a revenge game for Steph. He simply knew how much his team needed the W, and he acted accordingly. Even if that meant being less laid back than usual. And after he put up 52 points tonight, can you really argue against his methods?
Judging from his words at the post-game presser, we know Steve Kerr won’t be doing that anytime soon. The Warriors’ head coach seemed completely in awe of Curry despite having coached him for over a decade. Here’s what he said.
