Stephen Curry Tries to Convince Paige Bueckers After Wings Star Shares Azzi Fudd Secret

When it comes to Paige Bueckers’ future discussion, it’s never been behind closed doors. It’s been one of the most talked-about topics in women’s hoops for years. From whether she’ll declare early to what team she’d go to and what brand she’ll rep, everyone has an opinion. But while the world keeps chattering, Bueckers just keeps making history. In fact, while fans were debating her future last year, Paige became the first NIL athlete to design and launch her own player edition sneaker. A massive, history-making moment… but also not totally surprising if you know how deep her relationship with Nike runs. But now, can she trade that to end up in the Curryverse?

Before we get into all that, let’s talk about how Bueckers is absolutely thriving in the spotlight right now. She’s gone from being just the face of UConn to being a fashion icon too. Whether it’s pregame fits or her jersey moments, she’s got that effortless drip. But wanna know her favorite part of every look? The shoes. “I love a pretty shoe,” she said recently.

And guess who’s behind those pretty kicks? Well, you know already it’s none other than her rumored girlfriend Azzi Fudd. Before a Dallas Wings game, Paige was asked about her sneaker choices and she straight-up admitted, I usually get two, three, four, five shoes grouped together and then I actually call Azzi and have her pick them,” Bueckers added. “So, she’s been doing a good job of picking the prettiest ones.”

While this little Azzi moment was already melting fans’ hearts, guess who else noticed? Stephen Curry. The NBA star himself jumped into the chat with a sneaky little comment on a post that had Bueckers comments, writing, “Well…sounds like @currybrand is in your future then ”

For context, Fudd actually signed a NIL deal with Curry way back during her freshman year. So, she’s been linked to Steph’s ecosystem ever since – whether it’s through the Curry Brand itself (a subsidiary of Under Armour), the media company Unanimous, or his nonprofit Eat.Learn.Play.  But this new shoutout makes it clear that Steph is thinking “why not bring Paige in too.” We know that Curry’s been going all-in on women’s hoops lately. The Warriors star is backing Unrivaled, the women’s league co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, and he’s already got college stars like MiLaysia Fulwiley repping his brand.

But as of now, Curry Brand has zero WNBA athletes officially signed. Which means Paige Bueckers could very well be the first. On top of that, the two basketball stars have personal ties, too. After the 2024 season, Curry was spotted in a workout with Jaylen Brown, Bueckers, and Fudd.

However, not to forget, Paige signed a multi-year NIL deal with Nike in September 2023. She’s part of a growing elite club of women’s hoopers who have design influence. Jewell Loyd and Jonquel Jones have rocked their own Nike PEs. Sabrina Ionescu and A’ja Wilson have signature sneakers. Caitlin Clark’s already got multiple PEs and a signature sneaker in the works. Paige is very much in that conversation. So… would she really trade all that for Curry Brand? That’s the million-dollar question. Because while Nike’s giving her legacy status, Curry’s might her a spot at the ground floor of something new.

Even so, it’s no question why Curry Brand (or actually any brand) wants her? Paige is easily one of the most marketable faces in women’s basketball. She’s got the talent, the following, the story, the sneaker appeal – everything. She is one of the most recognisable faces right now. But wait…is she?

Jeopardy! contestant mixes up Paige Bueckers with Caitlin Clark

Lately, the internet can’t stop talking about how Sonia Citron and Caitlin Clark look alike and with the two set to pair up in the All-Star Game, the buzz only keeps growing. But most sports fans know exactly who’s who when it comes to Clark and Paige Bueckers. They don’t look alike, and their vibes are totally different.  Still, that didn’t stop one Jeopardy! contestant from making a hilarious mix-up on Wednesday night.

During the episode, host Ken Jennings read out a pretty obvious clue about Bueckers’ standout career at UConn with a picture of her right on the screen. And yet, the contestant buzzed in and guessed… Caitlin Clark. Now, if you’ve never watched women’s basketball before, sure, maybe it was just an innocent slip. But for those who know even a little about the sport, it was an easy one. The whole thing sparked reactions, since Bueckers is, by now, one of the most recognizable faces in the game.

And honestly, she just keeps stacking up moments that make her case even stronger. Speaking of which, later that same night, she gave fans another one. During the Dallas Wings’ tough loss to the Chicago Sky, Bueckers was caught in the background of a now-viral moment involving rookie Aziaha James. The Wings are still very much in search of their identity this season, and that confusion showed up again on the court. James had fans scratching their heads during a jump ball situation.

Matched up against the Sky’s Rebecca Allen, who had at least four inches on her, James didn’t even attempt to go for the ball. Instead, she walked straight through the circle and committed a lane violation, leaving everyone wondering what just happened. The camera panned to Bueckers on the sideline, and her reaction was priceless. Confused, and absolutely relatable – she looked like every fan watching from home.

Some tried to justify James’ move, saying maybe she was trying to let the defense get set. But still, it didn’t sit right with most people watching, and it only added to the narrative that the Wings still haven’t figured things out. They’ll get another shot to turn things around soon, as they return to the court to face the Indiana Fever.
