Steve Kerr Breaks Silence on Devin Booker’s All-Star Snub as Call Mounts Against NBA for Stephen Curry Controversy

Don’t be surprised when you can’t find Devin Booker in the All-Star lineup. Yes, you read it right. It can be touted as one of the biggest snubs of this year. Not to forget Kyrie Irving and Trae Young, the regular customer at the snub party. Last night, the league announced the All-Star reserves, there were a lot of deserving names, but at the same time, they were off the list as well. Anyway, hours after the official announcement, Coach Steve Kerr opened up about his challenging ordeal amid the strong call against Stephen Curry.

“Steph Curry should not be an all-star,” said Kendrick Perkins, without any hesitation on Live TV. Irrespective of the clutch games that Curry managed to win for the Dubs this season, the superstar’s number certainly tanked this season. Barring the injury-riddled 2019-20 season, Chef recorded the lowest points average since his sophomore year. However, some argue that Curry deserved a spot cause for the San Francisco connection.

On the other end, D-Book has a better stat sheet than Steph, averaging 25.5 ppg with 6.7 apg while the Bay Area guard recorded 22.3 ppg with 6.3 apg. Amid this controversial juncture, Coach Steve Kerr addressed the star’s snub ahead of the Suns’ matchup against the Warriors. “It’s tough. I wanted him to make it, but it is what it is and people are always going to get left out,” said Kerr ahead of the pre-game presser.

“It’s tough. One of the best players in the world.”

However, the reporters didn’t let him slip away easily. One of them asked how the 9x NBA Champ decided before voting his picks. For a moment, it sounded like Kerr revealing how he voted out Devin Booker. “They don’t give you any rule. They just let you pick. So, I’d pick, you know, I would pick according to what I see. Who’s making the big impact for their teams,” said the champion coach.

While it seemed like a simple thought process, he further added, “It doesn’t make things very clear because like I said there’s always three or four guys… it’s pretty hard when you get down to those last couple of spots.” Something was clear: Kerr wasn’t questioning or regretting Stephen Curry‘s spot over Booker.

The Suns‘ guard seemed pretty unfazed. The reporters approached the star ahead of tonight’s challenge and asked him about the snub. “Obviously something I wanted to be a part of, but definitely not going to complain about taking a week to regroup,” said Booker. Importantly, he said it without giving away any emotion.

At the same time, he also addressed the repetitive narrative surrounding All-Star snubs every season. Booker concluded, “It’s always going to be the conversation every year who got snubbed through dinner and there is a lot of people that are deserving that stuff.”

Looking deeply into the West, Devin Booker’s stats doesn’t make a strong case for himself either. The guard, who was known for his shooting percentage, has produced the lowest since his third year in the league. Moreover, the Suns, ignoring the latest surge, have struggled significantly to win games. Anyway, let us know your views on Devin Booker’s snub.
