Quincy Wilson’s back to winning ways! The 400m has been his sweet spot for a while now. But a field stacked with pros is enough to crumble any high schooler. However, that’s where the Bullis junior stands out. Wilson’s not just any high schooler, and he proved that at his first-ever U.S. Indoor Championships appearance. Let’s just say the whole of Staten Island went bonkers after watching him speed past. But he’s not done yet. This is only the beginning and he just fired off that warning!
Quincy Wilson opened the day with a 46.41s win in his 400m heat at the U.S. Indoor Championships. After which, the teen in the yellow tracksuit was seen speaking to the interviewers. That’s where he was asked that he actually had to run a lot on the outside in order to get that win, so where did he find that extra gear, to which Wilson replied, “Oh, it’s my grit. My determination. I don’t like to lose. I’m ready and I’m hungry.” Reflecting on why he was there in the U.S. Indoors, Wilson also added, “Great environment. Great place to meet. I just can’t wait to show what I’ve got to do.”
Clearly, these sound like warnings. He is ready to go and his confidence is more than visible here!
The story is developing….
