Ever since Terence Crawford won his last bout against Israil Madrimov on August 3, 2024, fans have been wanting to see the 37-year-old back in action. It’s been 8 months since his last fight. Now that he’s the WBA and WBO-interim light middleweight champion, there are several high-profile opponents waiting for a fight. With Jaron Ennis eyeing a potential bout and Vergil Ortiz Jr. looking for his next high-profile opponent, the list of potential competitors is long for Bud. However, Crawford is all set to face the unified super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez.
The highly anticipated showdown between Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez is set for September 13, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both fighters, widely regarded as the best of their generation, will be vying for Canelo’s undisputed title, provided the Mexican star dismantles IBF champion William Scull next month. Notably, the Nebraska native will jump two weight classes to face Alvarez in the ring. With such a challenge ahead, one might wonder how Crawford has been preparing during his time away from the spotlight. He is hard at work in the gym, and according to reports, he’s already up to 180 lbs in his climb up to super middleweight. However, despite being hard at work in the gym, Terence Crawford remains a devoted family man, actively engaged in his loved ones’ lives.
He is a loving father to six children: Terence Crawford Jr., Miya Crawford, T. Bud Crawford, Tyrese Crawford, Talaya “Lay Lay” Crawford, and Trinity Michele Crawford. So, when an occasion arises to celebrate his children, he is right there in his role as Pops. This time, it was no different.
Yesterday, Boxing N BBQ posted a video on their X handle. The video was posted through his wife, Alindra Person’s Instagram handle. “Crawford pulled up on his daughter at school with a new ride. Good feeling for both,” the caption on the post read.

In the video, Terence had just pulled up to his daughter Miya’s school parking lot. And not with an old ride. Upon seeing her father in a new car, the surprised teen replied, “Dad, this is not my car.” To that, Terence Crawford handed over the keys to his daughter, saying, “And it’s your key!” To this, Miya, hugging her father, shared, “Thank you Dad!” In a heartwarming, sweet moment between the father-daughter duo, Crawford jokingly continued, “You’re gonna drive this home.” At this point, her mother, who was sitting in the passenger seat, capturing the scene, screamed out, “No, the f*** she ain’t!”
The post received a lot of reactions from fans. They’d admired watching their favorite boxer’s new side, beyond just the boxing and the gym.
Terence Crawford’s surprise to her daughter captures fans’ hearts
One of the fans wrote, “This is the side of Bud we need to see more often .” Clearly, fans don’t just appreciate their idols in the ring, but they also love to see the whole picture. They’re not there just for the boxing, but also supporting the boxers in their normal, human, and emotional lives. Crawford has reportedly been protective about his family’s privacy. But, away from the public eye, the 41-0 boxer seems to be a loving father and caring husband, too.
Another went on similarly, “Wholesome, love to see it.” And “wholesome,” it sure was. Remember when Crawford defeated Errol Spence Jr. in July 2023 to become the undisputed welterweight champion? Well, only a few days after the fight, he attended a track meet at Drake University, Iowa. To support his daughter, Talaya. At the time, an Instagram video had surfaced, with Bud cheering “go Lay Lay,” as she raced. No doubt, Crawford is a supportive father.
Continuing the love, one more fan commented, “Special moment for any father! Congratulations to that young lady on her new whip [car] and having such a great role model for a father!” The fan acknowledged Crawford for being a great role model for his six kids. And why wouldn’t they? Being a top-tier boxer, he needs to spend most of his time training. His routine is intense, with gym routines, swimming sessions, training in Colorado Springs at a higher altitude, and maintaining a strict diet. All of that lets him face his opponents with ease. And that takes time and effort. Despite this, he’s continually spending quality time with his family too.
Showering love, another fan said, “So cool to see God bless her love bud as a fighter but he appears to be an even better father.” This only shows that, apart from being a good fighter, being a good father and human being is also a must for the 37-year-old, something which Terence Crawford is a natural at.
Then there was one more fan, who spoke, “I just like how he got his props from the entire city and state, and I got to watch it live. Feels good to see good things happen to good ppl. Errol Spence is a HOF though.” Apparently, the fan had experienced Crawford’s warm gestures towards his family in person. Crawford still resides in Omaha, Nebraska, with his family, and he’s a celebrated figure there. However, the fan also took a moment to assert that Errol Spence Jr. indeed deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, which, Crawford had denied a few weeks ago, stating, “Everything that I’ve accomplished he’s(Spence) still trying to accomplish. He fought in one division. You know, he unified the title but wasn’t undisputed.” And the fan doesn’t quite agree with Crawford on the matter, despite appreciating Bud’s reputation in his hometown.
Lastly, bringing everyone back to boxing, a fan wrote, “Love this sh*t but he needs to fight someone.” Perhaps, those who have been waiting to see Terence Crawford in the ring would finally get an epic showdown when the Alvarez-Crawford bout happens 5 months from now.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you, too, think that Terence Crawford is excellent at juggling boxing with his personal life?
