“That Was a Robbery”- UFC Community Blasts Controversial Decision for Rob Font Win Against Jean Matsumoto at UFC Seattle

Bantamweight contender Rob Font opened his 2025 account with a unanimous decision win, making it two wins in a row. He defeated Jean Matsumoto, who suffered his first UFC loss, via decision. But it seems like many people believe the fight should have gone the Brazilian fighter’s way, which was evident from the reactions of fans and even the UFC pros on social media.

The young Jean Matsumoto garnered the support of his fellow Brazilian UFC fighters, who did not hold back in claiming that the bantamweight fighter got robbed of a win. “That been said! That was a robbery,” Renato Moicano wrote on X.

However, he wasn’t the only UFC pro who spoke out about how the fight ended as Gilbert Burns echoed the same sentiment as ‘Money Moicano’ and envisioned great things for Jean Matsumoto in his UFC career. “I think [Jean Matsumoto] won the fight! But still 25 yo Future is bright,” ‘Durinho’ tweeted.

Meanwhile, fans also joined the conversation as they responded to Gilbert Burns’ tweet. While one fan agreed that Jean Matsumoto should have won, it is hard to claim that given how ‘close’ the contest was between the 25-year-old and Rob Font. “I thought he lost but very close. It all came down to the 1st and he didn’t do much with the takedown while Font did damage while on the feet,” the fan stated.
