“This Time With Her”- Serena Williams’ Husband’s Golf Day With Olympia Leads to a Heartfelt Realization About Fatherhood

Alexis Ohanian often shares heartwarming glimpses of his bonding with Olympia on the golf course. Last year, as Olympia showcased her skills on the course, Ohanian beamed with pride as he shared the snap on X with a touching caption: “Jr got four strokes for this hole and got par. So proud.” Recently, Ohanian hit the golf course again, but this time, with a special addition to the team: his father, Chris Ohanian. And of course, Olympia was there too. But what were the three of them up to?

While many assumed that the daughter of 23-time GS winner, Olympia Ohanian, would naturally gravitate toward the world of tennis, the young prodigy seems to be swinging in a different direction. Instead of the court, Olympia is making waves on the green. And her father, Alexis Ohanian, never misses an opportunity to showcase her growing prowess in golf. Take last December, for instance: Olympia displayed a confident swing and remarkable composure, hinting at the hours she’s dedicated to refining her game. Fast forward to early 2024, and Olympia’s progress was undeniable. Ohanian proudly shared a milestone moment when his 7-year-old daughter hit a bogey, an impressive feat for someone so young. Fully embracing his role as her “Sunday Daddy Caddy,” Ohanian even playfully admitted that Olympia was already outpacing him on the course, although the 41-year-old was determined to “catch up.”

And now, the entire Ohanian family has had another perfect day on the course, with Alexis continuing to nurture Olympia’s love for the sport. But this time, the older generation made its appearance too.

Just a while back, Alexis took to his X handle and posted two pictures of the family outing. In one, we saw Alexis with his father and daughter, and in another one, Olympia could be seen practicing golf, as the post read, “42 is realizing how precious these moments are. They’re fleeting. I could build a dozen more multi-billion dollar companies, and the ROI for this time with her is still better. Here’s to trying to always remember this when I slip into Founder Mode.” Later, the father of two posted the same picture on Instagram, writing, “We’re living in the good ol’ days.”

The co-founder of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian, isn’t just a devoted father; he’s on a mission to redefine modern parenting. By his own admission, his public embrace of fatherhood is intentional. Ohanian wants to normalize the idea that fatherhood isn’t just about being present as it’s about being actively involved. “The real magic here is seeing a career dad talking about it. I know we’re in a phase where it’s still a little bit of an anomaly, and so the end goal is for this to just be normal,” he told Quartz.

For Ohanian, parenting isn’t a role to be divided along traditional lines, it’s a shared journey. Through exemplary conduct, he aims to foster a societal transformation where active fatherhood is not merely lauded but considered the norm, mirroring the societal acceptance of frequent leisure pursuits.

Additionally, golf isn’t the only skill Alexis Ohanian is nurturing in Olympia. Beyond the fairway, the entrepreneur also teaches his daughter the art of making pancakes, embodying the essence of modern fatherhood: hands-on, present, and deeply involved in every moment.

Serena Williams reveals the importance of Papa pancakes

Last November, when Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams attended the Lingo Spike Sessions, the event turned into a laughter-filled celebration of family, packed with playful banter, amusing confessions, and heartwarming moments. The couple entertained the audience by sharing behind-the-scenes anecdotes from their daily lives, ranging from late-night snack cravings to parenting quirks.

However, amidst the enjoyable events, a particularly heartwarming detail emerged: Ohanian’s treasured weekend ritual of sharing breakfast with his daughters. When asked about their family’s go-to weekend breakfast, Serena didn’t miss a beat. “Papa pancakes,” she answered with a knowing smile. While the response itself was sweet, it was Ohanian’s heartfelt addition to it that truly stole the spotlight.

“When Olympia was little and couldn’t really speak, I’d make alphabet letters in the pancakes for every letter in her name. I can’t take all the credit for her learning to read, but pancakes definitely played a part,” Ohanian added, as Serena Williams said, “Papa pancakes provides for and educates you.”

Ohanian’s dedication to his daughters extends far beyond the definition of fatherhood. Whether it’s taking Olympia to the golf course for a fun-filled sports day or teaching her the art of making the perfect pancake, he continues to set an inspiring example of modern fatherhood. But here’s the big question for you: Do you see Olympia pursue golf in the future?
