Titans Confirm Major QB Decision for Brian Callahan as Will Levis Predicted to Join $5.3B Franchise

A perfect pair of quarterback and head coach can lead to successful marriages. Brian Callahan knows this. And the potential top QB prospect Cam Ward knows it too, as they have already started to build relationships even before the NFL Draft. On Miami’s pro day, the two met each other and appeared as “best friends,” per reporter Jim Wyatt. However, that’s one potential landing QB in the Tennessee Titans we are talking about. What about the others?

Brian Callahan’s team had two quarterbacks – Will Levis and Brandon Allen – before Wednesday’s massive deal. According to Dov Kleiman on X, “The Titans have signed veteran QB Tim Boyle.” The 30-year-old veteran is joining his seventh NFL team.

Boyle’s journey started in Green Bay as an undrafted rookie in 2018, where he spent three seasons. Back then, Chad Brinker – now the Titans’s president of football operations – was part of the Packers’s front office. So, it would also be a connection that the newly-minted Titans’s QB will find in Brian Callahan’s team.

Last season, Tim Boyle bounced between the Dolphins and Giants, throwing for 276 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in three appearances. Over seven seasons, he has started just five games, with stints on teams like the Jets, Lions, and Bears. Now, he gets another chance in Brian Callahan’s Titans. Will this be the fresh start he needs?

But as we mentioned earlier, the team is also hunting young QB Cam Ward. However, it’s not sure that Brian Callahan will depend on the rookie for the first season, despite having a “best friends” like relationship. So, now many think, for the starter role Tim Boyle will have a real competition with Will Levis and Brandon Allen. But you might be wrong in some way.

Will Levis might leave Brian Callahan’s team!

Both Tim Boyle and Will Levis are Xavier High School graduates, passing out the school in 2013 and 2018, respectively. The duo stole the spotlight during Week 12 of the 2023 season, as both started their teams to face off against different teams. But now as Boyle has been signed to Brian Callahan’s team, it was anticipated that both Levis and Boyle will have a QB competition between them. But unfortunately, that might not be the truth!

We all know that the Titans were arguably the worst team last season, in terms of winning records, 3-14. So, how about transplanting a QB, and making some necessary changes in the QB room? That’s why ESPN’s Evan Cohen suggested Mike Tomlin’s $5.3 billion Steelers should acquire Will Levis. He expressed, “I’d trade for Will Levis. He’s not good, but he’s not Brett Rypien. That should not have been your plan. But that is at least if you miss out on [Aaron] Rodgers. Where the heck are you gonna go? At least he’s a guy that started.

The Steelers already have Mason Rudolph at their quarterback position. So, keeping Brian Callahan’s QB Levis in the team could not pose a significant advantage to the team. The 25-year-old started in 12 games last season and completed 190 out of 301 attempts for 2091 yards. Along with this record, he also managed to score 13 touchdowns, while being intercepted for 12 times. Not only that!

Levis managed to make a record of 2-10 which benched him in favor of Rudolph, as per Brian Callahan’s decision. So, bringing Levis again with him to the Steelers, does not seem like a great idea. In addition, the Steel City is also reportedly looking for Aaron Rodgers, who might connect with the team soon. Moreover, they will be eyeing for some draft prospects too. So, bringing Levis into the Steelers from Brian Callahan’s franchise, it could be a nay-nay idea!
