Travis Hunter Predicted ‘Perfect Fit’ for Struggling NFC Team After $8M QB’s Addition

NFL fans could not be more excited to see Travis Hunter play. It is incredible to have a player that can play both offensive and defensive positions. Due to his two-way game, Hunter is regarded as a once-in-a-lifetime player. And obviously, many clubs want to take him. While the WR/CB is a tremendous draft pick, reports suggest that he will not be the first overall draft pick of the year. Rather, he remains one of this year’s top-five picks. And there’s one team that is ideal for Hunter.

This team is none other than the New York Giants, who BTW have the third pick in this year’s draft. They have made significant progress in their roasters, and Travis Hunter would be an excellent add-on. While the young kid is clearly a strong pick, there is one more reason why the New York Giants should draft him. Actually, the team recently signed QB Jameis Winston with an incredible contract. The organization gave the veteran QB a two-year contract worth $8 million, with performance-based incentives allowing him to earn up to $16 million. Interesting! And Hunter can make an excellent combination with this new Giants QB.

Travis Hunter is the perfect fit for the Giants now because he can play wide receiver on Jameis’ good passes and cornerback on Jameis’ bad passes.

Timo Riske is one of those who brought this up, suggesting that the WR/CB can assist the new Giants QB in any way. Interestingly, Tim gave two situations. One if the QB makes a bad throw, then Hunter can play as a WR. And two, if he makes a good throw, he can play as a CB. And this way, the two-way potential can be completely utilized by the club. Riske’s comments read, “Travis Hunter is the perfect fit for the Giants now because he can play wide receiver on Jameis’ good passes and cornerback on Jameis’ bad passes.”

If these pieces fall in place, then the Giants can become a massive contender after this summer. The signing of Jamis Winston has improved the team’s offense significantly. And someone like Travis Hunter can be just like the icing on the cake. It’s like taking two shots with one arrow. But wait, there’s more.

Analysts such as Mel Kiper Jr. and Daniel Jeremiah have also speculated that the team is looking to acquire Hunter. They claim that behind the scenes one thing is going on, “Hunter is my top-ranked prospect in the class… He can make a massive impact on either side of the ball.”

Apart from all of this, there are even more reasons that indicate why the Giants can select Travis Hunter as their first pick in the draft.

The Giants need Travis Hunter for their do-or-die season in 2025

It’s been 13 years! 13 years since the New York Giants haven’t reached the Super Bowl. The squad has clinched postseason spots twice after 2012 but failed badly both times. The G-Men are undoubtedly desperate for a Super Bowl win right now. Todd McShay and Rich Eisen of The Ringer also highlighted the same thing. They were both present on The Rich Eisen Show when they discussed Travis Hunter’s potential team. And they definitely expected the Giants to take the star.

The reason for this is that it has been a long time since the New York Giants have even competed in the Super Bowl. The squad has failed numerous times over the last decade, and if they want to make a comeback, they will need an IT factor. Travis Hunter can certainly be that for them, and with a quarterback like Jameis Winston, the squad can accomplish great things.

Hunter could potentially do playing on both sides of the ball. What he does with the ball in his hands, his ability to take the ball away—all of those things—for most organizations, it’s a no-brainer. But for the Giants, with Joe Schoen and with Brian Daboll, and the clock ticking, you know, the noose around the neck is getting tighter and tighter… You got to win now, and you got to show promise,” said McShay.

Another concern that remains is, if the Giants choose Travis Hunter, what will they do with him? Will they compel him to specialize in one position, or will they take advantage of his incredible two-way skills? Only time will tell what the future holds for Travis Hunter in the NFL, but the Giants front office needs to come up to a decision. After all, they are in the perfect place to snag Hunter.
