Travis Hunter Soaks in $567 Million Program Tour After NFL Draft Night Sends Him Near Hometown

Travis Hunter’s story just keeps getting better and better. After three years lighting it up for Deion Sanders across Jackson State and Colorado, he’s finally heading back closer to his roots in Florida. Draft night was wild enough, but his first real-taste of NFL life? A lifetime memory!

Jacksonville, less than a 4-hour drive from his hometown of West Palm Beach, traded up with the Cleveland Browns to get Travis Hunter at No. 2. Four picks, including next year’s first rounder. You don’t pull a move like that unless you know you’re getting a generational guy. But yeah, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner is that guy!

When Travis Hunter first touched down at Miller Electric Center — a $567 million palace of a facility — you could tell he felt it. “I normally go to sleep on planes, but I stayed up the whole time just looking out the window,” he said. How can you sleep when your whole life’s about to change? The new episode on Travis Hunter on April 26 documents his arrival to Jacksonville for the first taste of his new NFL franchise.

After meeting with the staff on his arrival day, Travis Hunter gets a real program tour the following day. The tour kicked right in the heart of it — the Jacksonville Jaguars locker room. The former Colorado player spotted his locker with his name and No. 12 across the top and instantly grabbed a Jaguars hat like a kid on Christmas morning. It just looked right on him. From there, it was a whirlwind.

Travis Hunter checked out the helmet wall. Then he even tried to show off some hoops skills — missed two shots but hey, it’s not basketball right? Then they showed him the cryo chamber, the pools, the weight room, and the indoor practice field. Hunter’s head was literally darting around taking in all the sights like living out every football dream he ever had. Finally, they walked outside. The grass field. The real deal. His future. You could almost hear the gears turning in his head — this is home now. And this Jaguars move? It’s the story taking off in a new direction.

Jacksonville is banking on Travis Hunter to bring change

The Jaguara didn’t just draft a player. They made a statement as GM James Gladstone put it — “It’s a statement for how we plan to move, who we are.” The franchise is betting the house on Travis Hunter to bring that change. “We know he’s going to be able to do both,” HC Liam Coen said. “We feel that in our bones. We’re going to set that up that way from a schedule, from an operations standpoint, the way that we’re going to operate for him, to set him up to have the most success that he can, then help the Jacksonville Jaguars become the best version of ourselves.” He’s already planning to unleash his two-way brilliance like Colorado did. And the two-way star? He’s all in on it.

What do I think about it? It was a great choice,” Travis Hunter said. “I’ve just got to come and do my job. My job is to come out and be Travis Hunter — come out and play how they envision me to play and exceed all the expectations.” You see, the Jags sacrificed a lot to get him — Round 1 No. 5, Round 2 No. 36, Round 4 No. 126 in 2025 and their 2026 first round selection. They got the Nos. 104 and 200 in R4 and R6, respectively. And Hunter knows the expectations — “They sacrificed a lot to get me. That means they believe in me. That just validates that I need to go ahead and just do my job.”

This isn’t about hype or potential anymore. The Travis Hunter era has officially begun in Jacksonville and maybe, it’s the beginning of something new.
