The Chevron Championship marks the first major event of the women’s golf season. For Korda, who is looking to regain her peak performance, the tournament at The Club at Carlton Woods presents a significant challenge, but not just because of her shots. Her Thursday round was derailed when she bogeyed four consecutive holes early on, resulting in a five-over 77. This left her 12 shots behind the Day 1 leader and four shots away from the early projected cutline. Reflecting on her performance after the round, the World No. 1 stated, “I just have to go work. I mean, I’m not hitting it well. That’s about it.” Unfortunately for Korda and her fellow LPGA golfers, both the course and the weather pose considerable challenges heading into the second round.
According to the latest update, the weather at The Club at Carlton Woods is posing a great threat to the roster. The resumption of Round 1 and the start of Round 2 have been postponed by 30 minutes because of fog, with an update expected at 7:20 am. This delay has now been increased by another 15 minutes, bringing the total delay to 45 minutes, so Round 1 will resume and Round 2 will start at 8:00 am.
The resumption of Round 1 and start of Round 2 are delayed an additional 15 minutes, for a total of 45 minutes. The resumption of Round 1 and first starting time of Round 2 are now 8:00 am.
