Walls Are Closing In on NCAA Officials as Calls Mount From Outraged College Basketball Community Against Injustice Suffered by Kim Mulkey vs Cori Close

“This is UCLA Basketball, this is what we do.” Lauren Betts said it best after UCLA sent LSU packing. And honestly…the Tigers were never the favorites here. UCLA has been rolling, and everyone knew the Bruins had the edge. The only thing in question? Whether Aneesah Morrow could make it and if Kim Mulkey could, as Janiah Barker put it, “scare the refs.” Well, Morrow did her part but not only did the coach not intimidate refs—many fans think the officials straight-up did her team dirty.

You could feel the tension. Mulkey was restless, the crowd was living and dying with every possession, and those final minutes were Pure chaos. Scrappy, intense, edge-of-your-seat stuff. But when the dust settled, UCLA had done it. 72-65. The Bruins got their revenge, knocking out the team that ended their run last season.

Betts, Gabriel Jaquez, and Timea Gardiner combined for 48 points, sealing the deal. Flau’Jae Johnson and Morrow fought like warriors, dropping 43 together, but it just wasn’t enough.

The refs are doing everything to give UCLA the win smfh !! #LSU

And the refs became the main character- again. The officiating against LSU story continued in this game. The only difference was this time, it actually cost them the win. Fans weren’t shy about calling it out: “Refs doing everything to give UCLA the win smfh!!” one fumed. Another added, “Refs doing LSU so dirty, man.”

Developing Story…..
