Warren Sapp Covers 1,880 Miles for a Heartfelt Gesture Toward Daughter Amid CU Buffs’ Spring Practice

Warren Sapp knows commitment. Whether it’s dominating the trenches or building Colorado’s pass rush, he’s all in. But even with the spring practice in full swing, the new Buffs pass rush coordinator made it clear — football doesn’t come before family. So he left Boulder behind and traveled across the country just to share a simple but meaningful meal with his daughter Cede.

On March 16, Cede Sapp took to Instagram to upload a couple of stories about her dinner date with Warren Sapp. In the first story, she posted a video of the bartender shaking up a cocktail as she added the caption — “Dinner dates with Dad back at my favorite spot @roccatampa ft the rohan duck.” Her second story is captioned “BEST FRIENDS FOREVER ” and it’s easy to see why. They played a game with a small cylindrical object looking to see who would get it to stand upright. Cede managed to do that in two tries. A splitting hearty laughter with claps followed. The prize? Two sweet treats. The real reward? A memory that mattered far more than any football practice.

This wasn’t just about fun and games. It was a reminder that despite a hectic schedule in Boulder, Warren Sapp will always have time for his daughter. But that dinner didn’t come easy. He had to travel 1,880 miles from Boulder to Tampa, putting everything on pause just to be with Cede. It wasn’t a grand event but it was about showing up because fatherhood comes first.

Warren Sapp never shied away from expressing his love for Cede. They’re each other’s best friends and Valentines. This February 14, he posted a sweet message, a picture of him holding a baby Cede with a heartwarming caption — “When you’ve had the same Valentine’s Love for 27 years!” Cede met this with an equally sweet response saying, “Stop, I love you .” Sapp is enjoying his time in Tampa. But just a day ago, he was commanding the Folsom Field.

Warren Sapp’s vision for Colorado football

This is not something unexpected. Now that Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders are gone, all eyes are on Deion Sanders to see if he can keep the program alive. But this is where Warren Sapp stepped in setting the tone for spring practice. He wasted no time drilling his players on technique and intensity. He later shared the sideline video on Instagram and captioned, “Coming this season #CoachSappCam #SappNotFishing #SkoBuffs #PRC 2025 first spring practice. #LetsGetIt.” And he meant every word.

During a pre-game show interview with Uncle Neely, Warren Sapp didn’t just set expectations. He issued a warning for future opponents. “We gonna turn Folsom up, we gonna turn it up,” he declared. “I want it so loud that you can’t hear your heartbeat in that thing. And we gonna play some D.” He also made a bold promise saying, “Listen, I’m telling you, when we come up out of that thing, it’s going to be something to see. I promise you, we going to well turn and get this thing oiled up nice and all parts all shiny, we gonna go wreck this thing.” With him leading the charge, the Buffs defense isn’t just preparing to compete. They’re preparing to wreck shop.

And if his journey to Tampa proves anything, it’s that when Warren Sapp commits to something, whether it’s coaching or fatherhood, he’s all in.
