“We Won’t See Him Fight Again”- Fans Divided Despite Nick Diaz’s Positive Update Amid Bad Health Issues

The world of mixed martial arts seemed to have taken a great sigh of relief as a video of Nick Diaz showing off his nunchaku skills went viral on social media. But there was a time when the fighting community deeply worried about the former Strikeforce champion’s health. Well, his girlfriend, Kay, had claimed his d–g addiction spoiled everything. It was even linked to another video of Diaz playing with fire in the neighborhood. But now, things seem to have changed for the better. But that might not mean he’d return to fight again.

In a statement ‘Diablo’ recently released on social media, Diaz admitted he should have helped himself, instead of supporting those who were never perfect. He said, “I don’t really have that many real friends, and I said, ‘Man I’m really in big trouble now. To be honest with you, I really don’t want to do this. But I’m always walking out to the other corner.’”

However, when it came to fighting, the Stockton native shocked the world with another revelation. He confessed he didn’t really enjoy fighting. His confidence was never high during fights. Even if he won a bout, he would have gotten beat up worse than his defeated opponent.

He exclaimed, “Then it’s like I’m being punished for not being a regular human being or a regular person.” Indeed, it’s a tragedy to witness Diaz walk away from the fighting realm.

But in December 2024, Adam Hutchinson shared a video on Instagram that showed Nick Diaz showing off his skills with a pair of nunchucks, as Bruce Lee’s voice talked about his epic ‘Be Like Water’ quote. Days after claiming he wasn’t interested in fighting, Diaz shared the video on his IG story. The fighting community began to believe that the Stockton native would finally return after his fight with Vicente Luque fell out. But alas! The decision was already made.

And the fight fans were left in hopeful thinking. Nevertheless, most of the fans wished Diaz the best of health. Let’s look at what the fighting community had to say in the comments section of the Instagram post, shall we?

Fight fans reveal their opinion on Nick Diaz’s update

Judging from the former Strikeforce champ’s previous words, one fan claimed, “Too bas we won’t see him fight again. True legend. Let’s hope he gets the help he needs.” Another fan bashed Diaz for pulling out of his fight against Luque. The comment read, “Quit pulling out bro just retire! It’s an injustice to you fans!” The fans believe Nick Diaz has ridden into the sunset and won’t compete in the octagon again.

But many others seemed to have a difference in opinion. With concerns over poor health shadowing the fighter, the update seemed like a sliver of hope. One fan commented, “Hope all is well brother. Get back in the gym. Silence the haters.”

Another fan pointed out, “Homie lookin sharper than ever.” One more fan added, “Hope to see him fight again.” Sometimes, it’s nice to see positive reactions on the internet in an already negative-spiraling world.

Well, the praise for his weapon-handling skills was never-ending. One fan wrote, “Learned his craft like an artist! Big fan.” After all, Diaz has been handling such weapons for arguably about 17 years now. But the concerns were still persistent. A comment read, “Can we have someone with some honest information tell us if Nick is healthy and doing well? Too many rumours going around that don’t sound good.”

What do you think of Diaz’s nunchucks skills? Do you think he’d return to compete against Luque anytime soon? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
