Misery continues for the Nets. They have had a forgettable season so far having been among the bottom seeded teams all year with no chance of making the playoffs. They headed into tonight’s Wizards clash hoping to snap their six-game losing streak. And the Brooklyn team did a solid job keeping the game competitive from the get go. But things took an unfortunate turn when their star player, Cam Johnson was forced to leave the floor due to a scary injury.
The incident occurred in the closing minutes of the final quarter. Running a quick give and go action, Cam drove aggressively to the basket from the left side. Seeing him attack the rim, defender Colby Jones jumped to contest his shot. Although Johnson managed to find his teammate in the corner, he unfortunately collided with Jones mid air and lost his balance. He hit the deck hard and immediately grabbed his tailbone area in immense agony – Cam was hurt.
Sure enough, his teammates and staff rushed to check on him. After laying on the floor for several minutes, Johnson left the game and headed to the locker room to assess the injury.
Cam Johnson took a hard fall and remained down for a very long time.
