What Happened to Sydney Colson? Alarming Scene Unfolds as Fever Star Walks Off in Pain after Injury Scare vs. Connecticut Sun

With Caitlin Clark out for at least two weeks with a left quad strain, veteran point guard Sydney Colson had stepped up as the Fever’s new floor general (backup PG). Stephanie White trusted the 2x champion with the responsibility despite the disasters that were the last few games. But this time, circumstances ended up worse than imagined.

After recording 2 assists and grabbing 2 rebounds across 9 minutes, the momentum came crashing down for the guard and the Fever. Just when the team had managed a 23-21 lead, Jacy Sheldon dove for a loose ball and collided with Sydney Colson. The veteran guard was down in obvious pain. It was actually the second hard hit she had taken. Sadly, Colson had to be helped to the locker room. And now Sophie Cunningham will take over the point guard duties.

Colson, currently their backup PG with Clark out, is walking gingerly. It’s the second time tonight she’s gotten hit.

She heads back to the locker room and Cunningham will run point.
