The Sunningdale Foursomes was certainly a ‘Hull’ of a shock. But why? Well, Charley Hull‘s bid for glory came to an abrupt end as she and partner Georgia Hall suffered a 4&3 defeat at the hands of pros Tom Shadbolt and Ben Evans. The LPGA Tour stars had been on a roll, advancing past the first round with a narrow 1-up victory and then dispatching their opponents with ease in the morning session. However, their winning streak came to a screeching halt on the Old Course, as Shadbolt and Evans proved too strong.
Hull and Hall, who have four LPGA Tour wins between them, couldn’t quite replicate their earlier form, and Hall later admitted that playing 36 holes in a day had taken its toll. “Playing 36 holes is actually not something we are used to anymore, and it can take a lot out of you,” she said. Despite their early exit, Hull and Hall can take pride in their impressive performances earlier in the tournament.
To redeem herself after the Sunningdale Foursomes loss, Charley Hull will likely look to perform well in her upcoming tournaments. So, where is the golfer playing next? Well, Hull has successfully entered the lineup for the 2025 FORD Championship per the official LPGA website, which starts on March 27th and will continue till the 30th. Last year, Hull was forced to withdraw from the LPGA Tour’s Ford Championship during the second round due to illness.

Despite a strong start, carding an opening level-par 72 and playing the first nine holes of her second round in 2-under par, Hull’s bout of flu got the better of her. However, fans will be happy to know that this isn’t the only tournament in the 2025 season where Hull has officially joined the field.
