Stanford football has made a master move toward the persisting void in the head coach room for a week. The program fired the former head coach, Troy Taylor, after a serious allegation of bullying and belittling female athletic staffers broke the internet. An NCAA investigation is underway as the anonymous female athletes (who brought the charge) sought prompt action. However, meanwhile, the Cardinals needed to have a solution for the coveted HC post. Although they couldn’t find a permanent name for the deal, they made a strategic jump to hire veteran NFL coach Frank Reich as the interim head coach of the school. Reich, 63, is widely expected to bring the program back to its prime, even if he has only one year at hand. Let’s dive into the new Stanford bayonet’s spouse and family!
What is Linda Reich’s background?
“The unique responsibility to mentor the best student-athletes in the world, to be the absolute best in what they aspire to do, is an opportunity I will fully embrace,” Reich said in an inaugural statement right after penning the deal. However, his hiring didn’t come out of the blue. Stanford football general manager Andrew Luck had an instrumental role to play in it. Luck knows the class Reich has as a coach. Thanks to his final NFL season (2018) under Frank’s stewardship at Indianapolis. When it called for an emergency decision after Taylor’s unforeseen dismissal, Luck couldn’t think of any name other than his former pro coach. Frank, on the other hand, takes on a greater responsibility to live up to that faith. But with a supportive wife and family by his side, rest assured, he can do it.
Frank had the relentless love and endorsement of his wife, Linda, as they spent a few decades together under a roof. To know Coach Frank interpersonally, you must take a sneak peek at his better half.
Back in 1987, the couple tied the knot and never looked back. They were childhood sweethearts spending a chunk of their formative years in Charlotte, North Carolina. Then, they went their separate ways to complete graduation from their respective high schools before reuniting in the state again.
The vintage love story eventually turned into wedded bliss and the beginning of their parenthood, with three beautiful kids (all are adults now): Lia, Aviry, and Hannah.
What does Linda Reich do?
Looking back at Linda’s career, the lady has walked hand in hand with her husband in terms of professional success. She used to be a philanthropist and a cheerleader at Cedar Crest High School. She now serves the society alongside his husband, Frank Reich, as the president and co-founder of kNot Today. The Indiana-based NGO aims to “generate awareness, initiate prevention strategies, and assist in the development of innovative healing programs for sexually abused and exploited children,” as mentioned on their website bio.
