A 6-foot, 200-pound winger, Leonard is the 8th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, with proven skills that range from being a sporting legend to taking up captaincy of Team USA with back-to-back gold medals at the World Juniors! During a recent call with Capitals insiders Tarik El Bashir and John Walton, Leonard shared his excitement. “Yeah, no, definitely, definitely keeping an eye on for sure everything. I’ve watched a lot of more games this year and then definitely keeping tabs on everything. I think this year is an important year for myself and it’s definitely going to watch the Caps this year and how good they’re doing and how dominant they are out there,” the young star expressed!

Coming back to his playing style, it has been dynamic and captivating to say the least! With the ability to attack the net fearlessly and hit strong shots, Ryan Leonard displays physicals that highlight his style of playing high-intensity hockey. It seems like he is surely going to bring in the energy and physicality to the Capitals, eventually becoming the key contributor in their lineup, doesn’t it? Now that he steps into the NHL, all eyes will be on how quickly he takes his junior performances to the professional level. While fans and analysts eagerly wait for a great show by this young star, there’s yet another dynamic prospect from Boston who has joined the league alongside Leonard!

NHL’s fresh faces are soon to be ignited!

Another standout prospect, joins Leonard in the league! Gabe Perreault also signed his entry-level contract with the New York Rangers, parallelly as Leonard joined the Capitals! Picked as the 23rd overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, Perreault has made a name for his scores and numbers. 35 goals and 108 points, he finished his college career in just two seasons at Boston College! That’s like a real knack for playmaking and finding the back of the net, right?

But the real excitement now comes in when Perreault adds his prowess to the Rangers when they push for a playoff spot with very slim chances considering the debilitating form they’re putting up in a tightly contested Eastern Conference race. And just like Leonard, even he seems to be contributing exceptionally well despite the team’s slumps. After all, with 19 goals and 60 points in his freshman year, he added another set of 16 goals and 48 points in his sophomore season! Rangers will surely witness a show of great speed and skill by their young star, whose entry is expected to make an immediate impact, one that the Rangers are in dire need of.

With Perreault’s highly anticipated addition to the Rangers and the Capitals spotlight on Leonard, the NHL season is going to burn up with everyone raising high hopes for these two young players.
