“I will never stop being a Celtic,” said Stephen Pagliuca after agreeing to sell the Boston Celtics to a consortium headed by William Chisholm. It was disappointing for the longtime minority owner to miss out on taking the reins at Boston. However, we’re not here to discuss that today. Instead, we’ll be looking at the person who’s been with him through all his triumphs and trials. And that’s his wife, Judy Pagliuca.
Judy and Steve have a blissful marriage. So, naturally, we’re all curious about the woman who’s always been by his side. Spoiler alert: like her husband, Judy is also extremely accomplished!

Stephen Pagliuca met the love of his life at Harvard. Judy was Stephen’s junior there. Both of them were there to earn an MBA. Little did they know they’d also find their life partners in the same place. However, it’s not clear exactly when they started dating, nor do we know when they got married. But we do know one thing, they’re always united in every endeavor they undertake.
Take their volunteer work for Harvard as an example. The couple are both vice-chairs for the Harvard Business School’s Campaign Leadership Committee. The official website describes this as “A dedicated group of alumni and friends served as ambassadors for The Harvard Business School Campaign.”

The two are so prolific together that the research lab they donated to the university was named after them. In fact, Judy held the ribbon while Steve cut it during the inauguration of the Pagliuca Life Lab! But their legacies go beyond their entrepreneurial and philanthropic work.
How many children do Stephen and Judy Pagliuca have?
Judy and Stephen have 4 children together. They welcomed their children—Joseph, Nick, Stephanie, and Jesse Pagliuca, into the world between 1984 and 1994. Three of their children attended Duke University, Stephen’s alma mater for his bachelor’s degree. Only Jesse Pagliuca chose to take his talents to Amherst instead of Duke. We can’t imagine what that conversation must have been like in the Pagliuca household.
But did you know that their oldest child, Joe, actually played for the Blue Devils from 2004 to 2007? In fact, all 3 of Judy and Stephen’s boys played college ball. But that was in the past. Joe is now a parent of two alongside his wife, Felicia Pagliuca. But while he works on raising his children, his sister has a different cause she’s working towards.
Stephanie is a resident physician at Weill Cornell. She’s been working in their department of internal medicine for the last 7 years and shows no signs of slowing down. It’s clear the couple has done a fantastic job at raising their children!
All in all, Stephen and Judy Pagliuca have built an incredible life together. Be it family, business, or philanthropy, everything they touch turns to gold. And this makes one thing very clear to us — the Pagliucas personify the term, “power couple”!
