Wife Katia Gushes Over Francisco Lindor With 4-Word Message After Mets Star Surpasses Derek Jeter in Stunning Feat

Sunday’s series finale against the Rockies was one to remember for the Mets. They completed the sweep in style, with home runs from their three biggest sluggers—Pete Alonso, Juan Soto, and, of course, their star shortstop Francisco Lindor.

Lindor’s fifth-inning blast added yet another milestone to his already Hall of Fame-worthy resume, this time by surpassing a legendary name from the cross-town rival. And from the stands, no one beamed with more pride than his wife, Katia.

It was Lindor’s 13th home run of the season, and his third in the series against the Rockies. The opportunity came in the form of an 89 mph four-seamer from Rockies’ left-handed pitcher Carson Palmquist. Lindor didn’t waste a moment as he blasted it into the left field stands at Citi Field. That long ball was his 261st career homer. And with that, he just passed Yankees legend shortstop Derek Jeter. Lindor now sits at 4th for career home runs by a shortstop.

And of course, his beloved wife Katia took to Instagram to share her joy over this incredible feat.

With a photo clicked from Citi Field featuring a screen showing Lindor, Katia wrote, “Out here making history @lindor12bc.” Four words—simple and neat, but more than enough to show the magnitude of his achievement. Well, Katia’s stories are fan favorites, giving them a peek into their star’s personal life. And she’s never shy about showing her love and support for him. This time, too, she didn’t disappoint.

Lindor is definitely making history. He had tied Jeter after Friday’s game against the Rockies for most home runs by a shortstop, and on Sunday, he surpassed him. But here’s the catch: Jeter took 11,195 at-bats to achieve 260 home runs as a shortstop. How many at-bats did Lindor need? Nearly only half of Jeter’s total, just 5,675.

Lindor is fueling the belief that he might just be better than the legend himself. He now sits only behind Cal Ripken Jr. (431), Miguel Tejada (307), and Hanley Ramirez (271).

This was his 123rd home run in a Mets uniform. And what’s more interesting is that this four-time All-Star and Silver Slugger is just 31 years old, with still six years left on his contract. He definitely has a lot of time left to make more history, and Katia knows it.

This isn’t the first time Katia has congratulated him. Last week, when Lindor completed his 10 years in MLB, she shared his photo with a loving message: “Looks the same 10 years later lol.” Yes, there are only minimal changes in his appearance, except for one: His stat book.

And while making numbers, Lindor also makes sure to take a stand when his teammate is going through a rough patch.

Lindor extends support to a struggling Soto

Soto’s struggles at the plate are no secret. He has been finding it hard to get into rhythm, with his batting average dipping to .231 and his OPS at .770. It’s almost hard to believe this is the same Soto who played for the Yankees last year. While his slump is becoming a $765 million headache for the Mets, criticism is expected. But amid all the noise, Soto found a pillar of support from his beloved teammate.

Lindor showed unwavering support, and according to him, that’s exactly what Soto needs right now to get through this intense scrutiny. While speaking to NJ Advance Media, Lindor mentioned, “I honestly see the same guy from spring training till today. Yeah, there were maybe more laughs in between innings and stuff, but I think it was because games didn’t really matter. Now he’s locked into his routine…”

“Continue to give him love; he deserves it,” said Lindor to Metsies. And as Soto sits more comfortably with the team now, it is also starting to reflect in his performance.

Soto recently ended a 17-game homerless drought against the Rockies. He has added a 388-foot home run in Sunday’s game, helping the team to a 3–5 victory to sweep the series. And now, all eyes are on him to keep the momentum going. If he finds his top form again, that’ll be the most powerful way to silence the critics.

As the Mets gear up to face the Dodgers, fans are eagerly hoping for a glimpse of Soto back at his very best.
