Josh Radnor is best known for playing hopeless romantic Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother—a role that made him a household name. While he hasn’t been in the spotlight as much in recent years, Ohanian still thinks he would’ve been the perfect fit back in his younger days. While Ohanian jokes that casting Chalamet is a stretch, it’s clear he’s having fun with the idea.
Ohanian doubled down on his love for Radnor, adding, “If we could go back in time, Josh Radnor should have done it when he was in his 20s. But no one wanted to write the Reddit biopic back then because we were a fringe website and not worth $40 billion. Josh Radnor, you’re my guy. You’ll always be the celebrity I was told I looked the most like.”
The Reddit co-founder obviously isn’t the only one in the family with a story worthy of the big screen. In 2021, King Richard hit theaters, telling the story of Venus and Serena Williams’ rise to tennis superstardom through the eyes of their father, Richard Williams. The film won critical acclaim and even earned Will Smith an Oscar for his performance.
With King Richard setting the bar high, it’s no surprise that Ohanian has now started imagining what his own biopic might look like. His journey—from launching Reddit in a college dorm room to becoming a successful venture capitalist and a dedicated family man—definitely has all the elements of a great movie.

Like this wasn’t just a superficial like hey l’ve watched a few movies. This is like I have deeply studied the text and I have strong opinions about this lore,” Serena said.
Ohanian then chimed in, saying, “And I guess I passed the test so that the next day I texted her and I was like, hey look last night was fun. But I’m going to pick you up. We’re gonna spend the day together in Paris, and it’s just going to be us during dinner.”
