WNBA Fans in Splits Over Mascot Sparky Incident in Cameron Brink’s LA Return Amid Atlanta Drama

No doubt, the Atlanta Dream game was a mess—literally. No, not because of the players, coaches, or even the refs. This time, it was the audience that created one of the most bizarre moments of the night. It all unfolded when a green d—– was thrown onto the hardwood midgame, drawing gasps and laughter from the crowd. Well, the “inappropriate” object came flying from the stands and landed near the players, pausing gameplay for a brief moment. While security quickly removed the item, fans couldn’t help but joke online that it was “one of the best passes of the night.” But surprisingly, that wasn’t the only off-court incident that caught eyes during the Dream’s game!

Earlier in the evening, the Los Angeles Sparks mascot—known for his high-energy antics—took a sudden and unfortunate tumble. It happened during a timeout when Sparky attempted a stunt that went awry, resulting in a direct hit to the head by the performer executing the stunt. The blow was hard enough to knock him flat onto the floor, where he remained for several seconds. “In case y’all were too busy giggling over the ATL incident, this just happened in LA,” penned a fan.

While it was unclear whether he was injured or simply stunned, the moment drew concerned yet amused reactions from the crowd, who glanced over, laughing. After all, with that oversized mascot head, how could he get hit? So, you know, it was these wild, unexpected events that ended up dominating the conversation both in the arena and across social platforms. And yes, fans couldn’t help but react quickly. “Bruhh not Sparky,” commented a spectator.
