What do you want to be when you grow up? This is a common question children get asked, right? Do you think 4-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles was asked the same? A quick look back will tell you that she did not grow up in the most ideal circumstances- her childhood was spent seeing parents who were addicted to alcohol and d—-. She grew up with her maternal grandfather, Ronald Biles, who was an Air Force veteran, and his second wife, Nellie, a nurse. Biles had to overcome several hurdles to achieve her current success. And now she’s inspiring the younger generation, one at a time.
The 28-year-old recently came across a post where a girl had dressed up like her for a project that was about role models. Biles decided to repost the adorable upload on X by Matthew Stephen that said, “My daughter worked very hard on her project about her role model, @Simone_Biles, for the last 3 months. She was so excited to make her presentation and she killed it!!! She was a little bummed we couldn’t do her braids in the middle like Simone does, but I say she rocked it!”
And guess what? This is not the first time the 23-time World Championship gold medalist witnessed such an adorable tribute. She was a source of inspiration for a 4-year-old girl named Hayden Hester from Mississippi back in 2023. Hayden decided to dress up as her favorite celebrity, Simone Biles, for her special day at school.
Kelsey Raylin Hester, Hayden’s mother, decides to upload photos and videos of her daughter’s get-up on social media. She captioned the post, writing, “Dress like your favorite celebrity day! Hayden said she wanted to be @Simone_Biles—the greatest gymnast in the world!”
The world-renowned gymnast replied to the post, writing, “Super cute. Dream big girly!!!!!” It seems like Biles is a pretty big inspiration for children, especially little girls, and maybe Baby Biles (her niece, Ronni) will see her as an inspiration too!
Simone Biles’ niece makes headlines
While Simone Biles had the world enamored at the 2024 Olympics, one little baby had the entire stadium engulfed in her adorable light. This was none other than Biles’ niece, Ronni, also lovingly known as Baby Biles. Little Biles was wearing a custom mini version of Simone’s custom-made GK Elite leotards as well. Ronni is always cheering for her “TT” with her adorable words and squeals.
According to her mother, Sammi Biles, her daughter always captures everyone’s attention whenever she sees Simone Biles on screen. “She just yells out, ‘T! T!’” Sammi shared. Ronni is already waddling in her aunt’s footsteps with the custom-made costumes and running to the gym with her parents!
Recently, Sammi gave a glimpse of how little Ronni is following in her aunt’s footsteps with a carousel of tender moments. The pictures showed Baby Biles in her gym life, alongside her parents.
